Racetech (Stand 7030) is targeting a February 2019 release for its latest range of seats. The new seats will be available with or without head restraints, and will be available in either standard or wide/tall specifications.

“Our new seats will replace our entry-level seats,” noted David Phillips, Racetech’s national sales manager, at PMW Expo 2018. “We’re looking at getting the FIA approval, so we expect February will be the first time the new seats are introduced.

“By the time that we’ve completed testing it will be the end of January, and then it’s just a matter of getting the results through to the FIA,” added Phillips. “The entry-level seats have been on the market for about 15 years, so it was time to bring them up to date with the launch of a new range.”

At PMW Expo 2018, Racetech is showcasing its FIA-approved back-mounted seats, as supplied to Porsche, Aston Martin and McLaren. The top-of-the-range seats are equipped with air ducting to send concentrated cooling to the lower back.
