Teamwork Motorsport is all set to compete in a new series, TCR China. 2014-2016 Teamwork CTCC driver Sunny Wong will partner with Alex Fung, who attracted the spotlight by winning the CTM Cup and securing a fine podium on his Macau debut.

Samuel Hsieh, 2014 Macau GP China Racing Cup race winner will team up with Macanese driver Felipe Souza, who raced in TCR Asia last year and claimed the runner up position in 2016 Macau GP CTM Cup.

The four drivers will compete with the Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR, which will be upgraded with the 2017 aero package.

TCR China is launched to meet the ever-growing demand in touring car racing in the China region. This new series features China’s well-known circuits in Shanghai, Guangdong, Ordos, and a new circuit in Zhejiang. Selected entrants will also be able to participate in the Macau GP invitation race.

There will be three races in each TCR China race weekend. Two of them will be sprint races and the third race a one-hour race which can be driven by two drivers. This offers more driver line-up options in one weekend.

In focusing in the China region, Teamwork Motorsport says that its aims this season are to ‘exploit operational and promotional synergies by competing in the TCR China series in 2017’.
