The former Manor Marussia F1 team has made via social media a number of announcements ahead of the forthcoming season. Firstly, the link to the now defunct Russian sports car manufacturer Marussia Motors has been dropped, and the squad will compete as Manor Racing from 2016. This has also lead to the unveiling of a redesigned team logo.

More major announcements from the team include news that the 2016 car, which will be powered by Mercedes HPP units this season, has passed its final crash test for the FIA and is cleared for pre-season testing in Barcelona next month. This is despite the fact that Manor Racing remains the only team yet to confirm its drivers for the 2016 season.

Manor’s final announcement was in relation to the recruitement of former Benetton, McLaren and Ferrari designer Nikolas Tombazis, as its new chief aerodynamicist.
