Mega-Line presents next-generation e-clutch actuator
Mega-Line’s new e-clutch actuator offers ultra-fast actuation speeds of under 100ms and exceptional durability. Evolving from the company’s proven clutch-by-wire architecture, the new design delivers precise control and reliability for demanding motorsport categories including GT3, Hypercar and LMDh. Featuring high-frequency operation, anti-stall functionality and compatibility with H-pattern gearboxes, the actuator can be used as a standalone unit or integrated with Mega-Line’s marshal disconnect system for FIA-compliant safety. This latest development reinforces Mega-Line’s dedication to precision, performance and advanced electronic control systems. “We’ve exhibited at PMW for more than 10 years because it brings real motorsport professionals together. It’s the one and only professional motorsport expo,” said the company’s commercial director, Benedikt Roos.
Conflux shows off heat exchanger used in Pagani hypercar
Conflux Technology’s advanced 3D-printed heat exchanger is featured in the transmission of Pagani’s latest hypercar, the Utopia, and is showcased at PMW Expo. Developed with Pagani and Xtrac, the custom cartridge heat exchanger delivers a 30% increase in heat rejection, maintaining thermal balance and performance under extreme conditions. Integrated into the bespoke 7-speed transmission, Conflux’s additive manufacturing solution supports the V12’s immense power while remaining lightweight, demonstrating the combination of cutting-edge thermal management and precision engineering. “PMW Expo is a meeting point for innovators shaping the future of manufacturing,” said Daniel France, Conflux’s business development and commercial lead, EMEA. “It gives us a unique platform to showcase our heat exchange solutions and connect with the automotive engineering community, exchanging insights and exploring collaborations.”
Helix unveils integrated electric drive units
Helix is showing expo visitors how combining motors, inverters and transmissions into a single plug-and-play system is transforming EV performance and manufacturing efficiency. Delivering over 23kW/kg with zero thermal fade, the company’s electric drive units – proven in Formula 1, Formula E and the VW ID.R – offer high power density and cost advantages for high-performance EVs. On display are Helix’s Scalable Core Technology platforms (SPC177, 242, 330), advanced thermal systems and the CTI-4 800V SiC inverter, showing how next-generation electric powertrains can be lighter, more efficient and easier to integrate. “PMW is where our target buyers actively seek next-generation powertrain solutions. It’s the most efficient way to connect with OEMs and program leaders needing motorsport-ready EV performance,” said Stuart Jaycocks, head of marketing at Helix.
Nikon SLM Solutions spotlights metal 3D printing for automotive
Nikon SLM Solutions, a global provider of integrated AM systems, is showcasing its latest advances in metal additive manufacturing at the expo. The company’s high-speed systems, featuring up to 12 lasers and build rates of 1,000ccm/h, produce precision-engineered components that highlight efficiency, productivity and design freedom. On display are examples demonstrating how metal 3D printing is shaping the next generation of production. “We see PMW as the perfect place to demonstrate industrialized metal 3D printing for automotive,” said Ralf Frohwerk, the company’s global head of business development. “With innovative AM applications already in series production in motorsport and hypercars, we aim to continue as a solution partner revolutionizing design and manufacturing.”
Italtecnica unveils new engine with excellent power-to-weight performance
Italtecnica has revealed the Orion V12 at PMW Expo – a 6.7-liter naturally aspirated engine that merges extreme performance with modern efficiency. Weighing under 200kg, it produces 850hp at 8,500rpm in Euro 6 form and over 900hp at 9,500rpm for track use, with a redline above 10,000rpm. Featuring an advanced intake design, variable timing, and lightweight aluminum, titanium and carbon construction, Orion delivers remarkable power-to-weight performance while meeting strict Euro 6 emissions standards. “We chose to unveil the Orion V12 at PMW because it’s an international benchmark – not only in motorsport but also in the hypercar sector. Our goal is to reach as many interested people as possible,” said Danilo Brossa, technical director of the Italtecnica testing department.
Marelli showcases e-axle system for elite motorsport
Marelli is presenting its Racing Electrical Axle (REA) at the expo. The fully integrated electric axle system is engineered for elite motorsport. Combining a direct oil-cooled motor generator unit (MGU), EDI power pack motor control unit (MCU), single-ratio GBX reducer with active differential and advanced dual cooling system, the REA delivers exceptional power density and efficiency. Its SiC-based inverter technology and enhanced direct-cooling inverter (EDI) system enable ultra-fast power delivery with precise control. Compact, lightweight and thermally optimized, the REA showcases Marelli’s leadership in high-performance electrified drivetrains for the next generation of racing applications.
“After being honored with two innovation awards at last year’s PMW Expo, returning to Cologne was a natural choice,” said Riccardo De Filippi, the head of Marelli Motorsport. “The event continues to be a benchmark for excellence in motorsport technology and a key touchpoint for our industry.”
HP Turbo presents high-performance diesel turbocharger
HP Turbo’s booth features the GTD35-900VR, the company’s latest high-performance diesel turbocharger. Evolving from G to GTD technology, this turbo delivers over 500hp, with OEM reliability and motorsport-grade performance. Designed for the iconic 1.9 TDI platform, its modular construction extends adaptability to BMW performance builds and 4×4 projects. Key features include a CNC-machined compressor housing, MFS billet wheel for rapid spool, high-flow turbine and an optional exhaust upgrade. A new, modular, electronic rotary actuator offers flexible installation, embodying HP Turbo’s commitment to innovation, power and durability in advanced turbocharging solutions.
PWR displays heat exchanger portfolio
PWR designs, manufactures and supplies high-performance cooling systems, backed by cutting-edge R&D and a flexible manufacturing approach. Forum highlights
Some world-class insights have been delivered at the PMW Magazine Stage and the Exhibitor Presentation Stage this morning. Temoc Rodriguez from Ricardo kicked off the Advanced Powertrain Technology Forum on the Magazine Stage with a presentation on ‘Design of high-performance battery systems,’ followed by Francesco Monti from Podium Advanced Technologies, whose presentation delved into ‘How to engineer a battery for the world’s toughest rally – and win!”
