Pirelli has announced that it is to organize a wet tire test held at Paul Ricard circuit, France, on January 25 and 26 2016. The Italian tire manufacturer has long pushed for a wet weather test to aid the development of its wet weather fitment competition tires.

The two-day test will be focussing purely on the wet tire, with no intermediate testing scheduled. Over the course of the two-day test, a variety of different prototype tires will be tested.

Three teams have been confirmed as taking part in the test: Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren. Pirelli states that more details on participating drivers, as well the complete test programme will be made available in the coming days.
