Simpson safety products has announced that its HANS Pro Ultra Lite, Medium 20 has been approved by the FIA, making the device the lightest weight HANS Device available to FIA sanctioned racers. The FIA approval comes on the heels of U.S. SFI approval in 2014.

Simpson is keen to champion the fact that the HANS Pro Ultra Lite is the lightest weight HANS Device ever made. The device uses aerospace grade carbon to achieve the weight savings, while still providing a solid rear billboard area for optional sponsor recognition. In comparison to a regular HANS Device, the Pro Ultra Lite is over 100g lighter. Design details of the device include defined winglets to seat guide restraints easily and more effectively, whilst a low profile ensures ease of entry and exit to a racecar.

“Simpson continues full speed forward to provide the best HANS Devices in the world at prices that are affordable to all racers,” stated Chuck Davies, CEO for Simpson Performance Products. “We pledge to continue to invest heavily in product development, research and testing. Improving our FIA product line is a key initiative that we have focused heavily on in recent years.”
