The Cadillac Formula 1 Team has announced three appointments to strengthen leadership across vehicle development and the broader aerodynamics function.
Craig Skinner joins the team as chief development engineer. He previously spent 20 years at Red Bull Racing, where he served as chief designer and played a key role in the team’s success during its consecutive drivers’ championship-winning seasons from 2021 to 2024.
In his new role, Skinner will provide technical direction across the development process, supporting the connection between car concept, aerodynamics design, analysis and delivery. He will report to chief technical officer Nick Chester.
Eric Blandin will lead the team’s aerodynamics group and guide its critical growth. He has over 11 years’ experience as chief aerodynamicist at Mercedes-AMG Petronas and four years at Aston Martin F1, and will also report to Chester.
Tim Lean will lead aerodynamics modeling and simulation as chief engineer. He brings with him over 10 years’ aerodynamics experience at McLaren and six years at Red Bull Racing, and was the principal aerodynamicist at Ferrari for over five years. He will report to Eric Blandin.
Cadillac Formula 1 Team says the key appointments underscore its commitment to developing the technical depth, collaboration and accountability required to support its long-term ambitions in Formula 1.
“These appointments represent a vital step in the technical evolution of the team,” said team principal Marcin Budkowski. “Bringing together experienced leadership across development, aerodynamics and modeling will help us create a stronger integrated technical organization and improve performance on track. Craig, Eric and Tim bring race and championship-winning experience to Cadillac F1 in areas that are central to our long-term development.”
