The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra all-electric prototype has achieved a lap time of 6:22.091 minutes at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, making it the third-fastest car on the Green Hell leaderboard and beating the record Xiaomi itself set last October.
The new lap time places Xiaomi’s SU7 Ultra among the most celebrated hypercars in Nürburgring history.
Gus Sanchez, senior project engineer at Prodrive, which has provided engineering support to the development of the SU7 Ultra, said, “This is what happens when electric innovation meets motorsport DNA. We’ve worked closely with Xiaomi to push the limits of what’s possible with electric performance, and this result speaks for itself.”
Driver David Pittard said, “Driving the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype redefined acceleration for me. It’s like nothing I’ve ever driven! You must be able to harness all the power, so having some great minds and talent working together from Xiaomi and Prodrive, we were able to optimize the power delivery, chassis and mechanical balance, braking and aerodynamic balance, which resulted in our amazing achievement. I am very proud to see the lap time up with some of the greatest manufacturers and drivers who have challenged the legendary Nordschleife.”
