Scuderia Villorba Corse has confirmed its first racing programme for the 2016 season. The Italian team, which is prominent in a number of European championships, will take part in the SRO organised GT4 European Series, with four GT4-specification Maserati GranTurismo MCs.

Villorba Corse has also become an official partner and reference team for Maserati, with the ‘racing with Maserati’ program being headed up by Raimondo Amadio. The company has previous experience with the GranTurismo, having ran the Redragon Motorsport entry in the Maserati Trofeo World Series.

“We have looked at the development of the GT4 category very closely,” explained team principal Raimondo Amadio. “We believe that our decision will prove right in bringing a future of good achievements. This championship is part of Stéphane Ratel’s SRO family, ensuring professionalism and competitiveness, and Villorba Corse is proud to represent such a prestigious and full of sporting history brand as Maserati. More details will follow in the coming weeks but we are already excited by this new challenge”.
