The DS Penske Formula E team – consisting of DS Automobiles and Penske Autosport – has detailed the vehicle development process in a new video on its YouTube channel titled ‘Development Decrypted #1’.

The DS Penske team can be seen testing a range of vehicle components, including evaluation of the reliability and performance levels of the powertrain and further tests of the systems and software associated with the all-electric drivetrain.

Due to the limited number of real sensors on the car, the team also uses artificial intelligence to create virtual sensors to better understand how the vehicle performs under different conditions to help the team achieve optimized performance.

With a limited number of test days throughout the year, and each lasting only 12 hours, it is imperative that the Formula E team has efficient processes in place to make the most of every minute on track.
