Ginetta has re-entered the LMP3 international sports prototype market with a brand-new car for the 2020 season.

Featuring LMP1-inspired aerodynamics, the Ginetta G61-LT-P3 will be eligible for races next year including the European Le Mans Series, the Michelin Le Mans Cup and in the Ultimate Cup Series.

The UK manufacturer is one of four given the opportunity to build new cars for 2020 and beyond. The 2020 LMP3s offer enhanced aero and safety standards as well as an uprated powertrain in comparison to the original LMP3 specifications.

Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta chairman, said, “The G61-LT-P3 chassis has been designed by our Ginetta LMP1 team with one goal in mind – winning races and championships for the next four years – we’re looking for teams with the same goal.”

Fitted with an enhanced class spec powertrain, the G61-LT-P3 has a 450ps and 550Nm Nissan VK56 V8 engine, an uprated Xtrac transmission, a megaline pneumatic paddle shift and Magneti Marelli electronics.
