Craig Edmondson has been appointed chief commercial officer at W Series, the international single-seater motor racing championship for female drivers only.

Prior to his appointment, Edmondson has delivered revenue growth and operational leadership for a range of global sports businesses. Most recently he was CEO Esports at Zwift, the gaming business for indoor cyclists and runners that recently achieved unicorn status. His experience also includes commercial strategy and sales, digital transformation and global development at the Premier League in the UK.

Commenting on his appointment, Edmondson remarked, “I’m delighted to be joining W Series at such an exciting time for the business. The growth since launch just over two years ago has been remarkable. Our new partnership with Formula 1 is a ringing endorsement of W Series’s mission to further the interests and prospects of female racing drivers everywhere and is a fantastic opportunity to maximize our reach and impact.”

Catherine Bond Muir, chief executive officer, W Series, added, “Craig has helped grow both early-stage businesses and sporting behemoths such as the Premier League, and that wealth of experience makes him a hugely valuable addition to W Series’s already dynamic and dedicated team.”
