M-Sport has detailed its all-new EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta R5. Equipped with an M-Sport-developed 1.6-liter turbo, direct injection power plant, the Ford rally car made its asphalt debut in the FIA World Rally Championship at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland.

Paired with the turbocharged unit, which is fitted with an FIA regulated 32mm restrictor, is a Sadev 5-speed sequential gearbox mated to Sadev front and rear differential units and a clutch disconnect fitted to the handbrake. This engine transmission combination generates 290bhp at 4,000rpm and 475Nm of torque at 400rpm.

The Fiesta R5 is equipped with front and rear McPherson struts with redesigned three-way adjustable Reiger dampers with aluminum bodies, as well as Brembo forged four-piston front and rear calipers. For the body shell, M-Sport designed a bespoke rollcage to comply with 2019 regulations, widened bodywork and strengthened suspension turrets.
