SHOW NEWS: All-new heatshield from SS Tube Technology

0

SS Tube Technology (SSTT) will be showcasing its new insulation product CeramicLite, which is based around a Ceramic Matrix Composite material.

It can offer a heatshield and insulating product capable of working in environments above 1,000°C for extended periods of time, offering superior thermal performance, reduced weight and tighter packaging than the current generation metallic based heat shields.

Designed to operate in applications far in excess of the capability of conventional composite materials, CeramicLite materials offer a lightweight and highly thermally insulation set of properties for all applications.

The materials have been developed with conventional composite manufacturing techniques at the forefront which allows CeramicLite products to be manufactured quickly and cost-effectively, in- line with the customer requirements. Several material specifications have been developed, providing customers with a variety of options to suit thermal, weight and budget requirements.

Typical applications include protection of epoxy composite components, standalone heat deflection or heat retention applications, or the materials can be incorporated into bespoke installations as required by our customers, where SS Tube Technology’s Development Engineering team can work with customers to develop bespoke solutions.

SS Tube Technology can be found at the 2016 Professional MotorSport World Expo, on stand 3053.
