MRF Tyres launches European motorsport division

India’s Madras Rubber Factory Limited (MRF) has announced it is to expand its motorsport tire range to the European market. The brand manufactures a variety of tires for a range of motorsport disciplines, including single-seaters, rallying and motocross.

One of India’s oldest tire manufacturers, the company was established in Madras, India in 1946 as a toy balloon factory, before moving into the tire industry in 1952. During its history, MRF has heavily been involved in motorsport providing tires for a variety of championships including becoming the first Indian manufacturer to develop FIA-CIK approved kart tires, as well as developing the Formula Maruti single-seater series in conjunction with the OEM.

MRF’s operations will begin in Europe through 2016, with further expansion planned for 2017.
