Gould Engineering, a supplier of pre-preg carbon fiber components to several Formula 1 teams, has announced its acquisition of a new Zünd S3 M-1200 digital cutter.

The S3 M-1200 will be installed at Gould Engineering in February with Zünd’s camera digitising system Capturez, plus the Autonest high-performance nesting software.

Zünd’s S3 series of digital cutters work over an operating temperature range of 10 – 35°C and can handle material up to 25mm in thickness, and 10 kg/m2 in weight.

“The rolling bed and nesting equipment will make production much faster and easier than with our current machine,” says Sean Gould, owner of Gould Engineering. “The S3 is more versatile and very simple to use so you don’t need heavily trained staff to operate it. Using the Capturez equipment, templates can be turned into moulded products quickly and easily.”
