Team JR-M has announced that it will run Porsche’s 911 GT3 R in the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia. Li Chao and Chris van der Drift will drive for the team.

The same combination finished second in the China GT Championship for the past two years. The decision follows JR-M’s one-off Blancpain GT Series Asia appearance in Shanghai in 2018.

This entry means Porsche will have four cars running in the series, with Japanese outfit ARN Racing switching over from Ferrari and Absolute Racing racing two 911 GT3 Rs. Audi, Lamborghini and Mercedes-AMG also have confirmed entries for 2019.

Head of Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific, Alexandre Gibot, said, “It’s great to see Li Chao make the move over to the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia for a full season. This year’s grid looks just as competitive and we’ll be sure to help him achieve the best possible results.”
