Pescarolo Sport returns with all-new Prototype racer

One of the most successful names in French motorsport is returning to Endurance competition with an all-new car. The Pescarolo 04-LM is loosely based on Pescarolo's existing 04-EXP, as used by the ACO's Le Mans Racing School, but features revised bodywork, materials choices and manufacturing methods.

The car features an FIA-approved carbon fiber chassis, manufactured by a unique and patented process for the production of carbon/epoxy composite material parts, and is powered by the race-proven GM LS3-generation V8 crate engine.

The car also features a variety of 'modern elements' on the premise of comfort and performance such as power steering, an integrated data acquisition system, an aerodynamics packaged refined in CFD, as well as a high-grade and bespoke wiring harness.

Pescarolo is keen to highlight that the car is '99% French', with just the LS3 being sourced from outside of Europe. P.L.F.B. build the entire chassis and body and only uses French subcontractors for the manufacture of parts.

The Pescarolo 04-LM is intended to slot itself in to the existing endurance pyramid, creating a new performance bracket between CN category cars and LMP3 machinary. The car is already eligible for use in the VdeV Sprint series as well as Creventic's 24H Proto series. In addition to this, Pescarolo has also announced that is aiming to finalise details of a single-make championship for the 04-LM, called Pescarolo Racing Series.
