The DMG-S shares the same core motion architecture found in Dynisma‘s engineering simulators, which have proved popular with F1 teams and other high-end motorsport outfits, delivering low motion latency and motion bandwidth above 50Hz. The differentiator is a more accessible price point and a much smaller footprint than the company’s DMG-1 and DMG-360XY systems.

According to the company, the performance envelope allows the platform to faithfully reproduce the transient cues that matter most to drivers: curb strikes, weight transfer, grip variation, tire degradation and oversteer onset. PMW tested the new system at Dynisma’s headquarters, and the fidelity and realism of the feedback, despite the compact platform, were impressive.

The system fits within a 2.5 x 2.5m footprint, making it viable for even the smallest workshop or the back of a truck. It requires only a single-phase 32A supply, obviating the need for dedicated electrical infrastructure. Two seating configurations are available to cover the primary vehicle categories: low heel point for GT and touring car, and high heel point for single-seaters.

Display options include triple 77in screens or VR/XR headset integration. Software compatibility spans Assetto Corsa as standard, with support for iRacing, F1, Le Mans Ultimate and professional vehicle modeling environments, making it straightforward to integrate into existing simulation workflows.

Ash Warne, founder and CTO of the company, framed the engineering rationale as follows: “A simulator becomes valuable when the driver can trust what they feel through the platform, from changes in grip and surface detail to weight transfer and vehicle balance at the limit. DMG-S applies the same engineering philosophy in a more compact format.”

Dynisma Motion Generators (DMGs) are engineered to deliver a highly accurate, high-fidelity motion response through ultra-low latency and high bandwidth, enabling the levels of realism and correlation required for modern driver-in-the-loop simulation. The DMG-360XY system builds on this foundation with large excursion capability of up to 5m of XY travel and unlimited yaw, providing an advanced platform for replicating complex vehicle dynamics and driver feedback.

The simulator will be installed at the Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s growing US base in Indianapolis, Indiana. The addition of the DMG-360XY, combined with the latest LED wall visualization technology, represents a further investment from the team in technical capability as Formula 1 continues through a new regulatory era in 2026, bringing fundamental changes to car behavior, power unit characteristics and aerodynamic performance.

Ash Warne, founder and CTO of Dynisma, said, “Dynisma is proud to support the Cadillac Formula 1 Team as they continue to build their technical capability in Formula 1. In modern motorsport, simulation plays a central role in connecting driver feedback with engineering development, and ensuring strong correlation between virtual tools, wind tunnel and track testing. The DMG-360XY is engineered to deliver a highly repeatable, high-fidelity environment, supporting informed decision-making across both long-term car development and race-by-race setup preparation.”

The installation was completed in 2025 and supported the team’s preparation for the 2026 Formula 1 technical regulations.

Dynisma’s motion generator technology provides a highly realistic driver-in-the-loop simulation environment, combining sub-5ms latency, bandwidth of up to 100Hz, sustained lateral motion and unlimited yaw capability. This enables drivers and engineers to evaluate vehicle behavior with a high degree of realism and repeatability, supporting trusted correlation across development activity.

With teams now actively developing cars under the current regulation set, simulation continues to play a central role in supporting fast, informed decision-making. At Enstone, the Dynisma simulator supports correlation with track data, wind tunnel results and CFD analysis, while also enabling detailed work to understand the behavior and interaction of the 2026 regulations covering powertrain, aerodynamics and tires.

The simulator is being used to support car development, setup evaluation and driver preparation during the 2026 season and will continue to form a core part of the team’s technical capability in future seasons.

BWT Alpine Formula One Team commented, “The 2026 Formula 1 regulations are a big departure from anything that we had before and required completely new cars in every aspect. Simulator work is a core part of how we develop and refine the car across multiple areas and is especially useful when there are such big changes. Driver-in-the-loop simulation helps us to understand vehicle and system behaviors and to connect driver feedback with our wider engineering data. Dynisma’s motion technology provides a realistic and repeatable environment that supports that process and underpins informed decision-making throughout the season.”

Ash Warne, the founder and CTO of Dynisma, added, “In all forms of vehicle development, simulation needs to deliver realism and trusted correlation if it is to add real value. That depends on a true 1:1 response between what drivers and engineers experience in the simulator and what is seen in track data, wind tunnel testing and CFD. We are pleased to see this capability being used by BWT Alpine Formula One Team as a client, supporting confident decision-making across a complex development program under the current regulations.”

At the core of the collaboration is virtual driving for high-performance vehicle development, to accelerate development processes and unlock performance potential earlier and more efficiently.

BMW M Motorsport will use MdynamiX’s extensive expertise in driving experience evaluation, virtual development methods and precise steering system simulation. MdynamiX will also provide its proprietary high-performance force feedback steering systems for this purpose.

The technology is designed to deliver a highly realistic driving experience through the steering system, which serves as a key interface between the driver and the vehicle.

Using proprietary force-feedback hardware and detailed steering system simulation models, racing drivers and engineers can evaluate steering characteristics early in the development process, allowing vehicle dynamics and steering feedback to be optimized before physical prototypes are built. The development environment enables complex steering systems to be virtually validated under racing conditions, with faster iterations and reliable decision-making foundations reportedly resulting in improved performance and shortened development cycles.

“The importance of virtual driving experience development in motorsport continues to grow,” said Erik Schuivens, head of vehicle performance and simulation at BMW M Motorsport. “With MdynamiX, we are working with a partner that not only provides methodological support but also delivers the technological foundation through its proprietary force feedback steering systems, allowing vehicle behavior to be experienced with exceptional precision in the simulator.”

“BMW M Motorsport stands for precise engineering and performance,” added Prof. Dr Peter Pfeffer, the CEO of MdynamiX. “The fact that our expertise in steering system simulation and our force feedback hardware now contribute to the performance of these vehicles validates our approach. Together, we are setting new standards in virtual driving experience development.”

The first production unit will be delivered to Lola Cars to support its vehicle development programs, including preparations for its ABB FIA Formula E World Championship GEN4 campaign.

Optimized for single-seater and cockpit racing series, such as Super Formula, LMP2, LMH/LMDh, Formula E, F2, F3, F4 and Formula Regional categories, the Delta T1 Sport reportedly opens the door to engineering-class DIL capability for race teams, drivers and organizations where space, infrastructure, installation complexities and cost of ownership have traditionally been barriers.

The simulator features an all-new Triform motion system that blends a uniquely high mechanical stiffness and low dynamic mass, to deliver elite physics, along with trusted, repeatable, tunable motion performance, Ansible reports.

Dan Clark, Ansible Motion’s managing director, said, “Delta T1 Sport delivers the fidelity that drivers and engineers crave, in a compact, easy-to-install and operate, inclusive package that has not been available until now. This new class of simulator will unlock fresh opportunities for teams to efficiently pursue and extract vehicle performance gains by leveraging a streamlined, optimized approach. Our customers will benefit from best-in-class, combined solutions in terms of technical integration, technical support and value, with the freedom to distinctively configure aspects of their DIL simulation environment that ultimately lead to competitive advantages.”

Delta T1 Sport in Formula E

The first production Delta T1 Sport will be delivered to Lola Cars’ Silverstone headquarters. The British motorsport company will draw on the benefits of virtual development for its Formula E program, with a wider range of DIL-simulator-supported initiatives set to follow in the longer term.

Till Bechtolsheimer, chairman of Lola Cars, commented, “We are delighted that Lola will be the first user of the pioneering Delta T1 Sport simulator, which will efficiently connect to our existing workflows, enabling us to accelerate our engineering processes and improve development as we strive to drive innovation through motorsport.”

Peter McCool, technical director of Lola Cars, continued, “We do not underestimate the impact this technology will have on our car development, software validation and race preparation, for both Formula E and future projects.”

Scalable architecture

As the latest addition to Ansible Motion’s DIL Sport simulator portfolio, Delta T1 Sport follows the Theta Seat Sport (already trusted in Formula E) and Theta Cube Sport (used by a European motorsport customer).

The DIL Sport range is designed for motorsport engineering applications, offering high dynamic fidelity, ultra-low latency and enhanced driver realism. The system also supports seamless integration with racing software and hardware environments to help in vehicle development and testing workflows.

“Within six-degrees-of-freedom motion space, DIL simulators must, first and foremost, deliver sufficient ground-plane fidelity – especially for vehicle dynamics and motorsport applications, where vehicle directional control and stability dominate the virtual test-driving experience,” said Elliot Dason-Barber, Ansible Motion’s technical director. “Many simulators miss this fundamental point by starting with legacy hexapods and then working backward to sort out additional motion requirements with appendages that add complexity and cost.”

Compact, six-degrees-of-freedom motion system

At the core of the Delta T1 Sport is Ansible Motion’s Triform motion system (AML TMS1), which is designed for motorsport and high-performance simulation applications.

The system uses updated kinematics and motion generation technology, aiming to retain elements of the company’s Stratiform motion approach while reducing the overall physical footprint.

The Delta T1 Sport offers a payload capacity of up to 300kg, supporting drivers and racing cockpits, and provides a six-degrees-of-freedom motion system with 1m surge, 1.2m sway, 0.2m heave, 22° roll, 16° pitch and 120° yaw.

Ansible Motion says the motion envelope has been optimized based on its experience in DIL simulation, to support realistic feedback on vehicle dynamics, including handling, track conditions and stability.

The system also includes a configurable motion cueing package, allowing sensory feedback to be tailored to different racing series, driver profiles and vehicle setups.

This overall motion space is efficiently packaged within a low-mass, 2.4 x 2.4m floor footprint, which enables flexibility of location and operation without special facility or flooring requirements.

Salman Safdar, Ansible Motion’s business development director, said, “The Delta T1 Sport also includes a number of bespoke driver feedback and immersion systems to suit physical space, budget and performance requirements, as well as futureproofing and upgrade pathways. These include, but are not limited to, multiple space-efficient vision systems, including projectors, LED walls, extended reality (XR) and virtual reality (VR) options; configurable race car cockpits; active dashboard and steering wheel interaction capabilities; adjustable racing seats; configurable pedals; haptic and torque feedback for steering; and harness and helmet loading systems.”

The collaboration aims to support virtual development processes by enabling faster component and vehicle development, while reducing testing and validation time and associated costs.

AVL VSM is a flexible, real-time simulation tool that enables users to model components, systems and complete vehicles. It allows them to test vehicle dynamics and performance in realistic scenarios, which is crucial for optimizing vehicle characteristics and ensuring safety. VSM enables a more integrated approach to vehicle design and optimization by allowing simultaneous consideration of various vehicle attributes and components and how they interact.

When VSM is paired with an Ansible Motion driver-in-the-loop simulator, the user can test changes to the virtual model and refine chassis dynamics, powertrain driveability, ADAS and active safety function calibration with a virtual test drive.

“By combining AVL VSM with Ansible Motion driver-in-the-loop simulators, manufacturers can move critical decisions to the front of the development cycle, dramatically reducing physical prototypes and test iterations,” said Gary Newton, AVL’s vice president of business development. “This tool combination can have an enormous impact on timeline and budget. Imagine validating 70+ track scenarios per day in multiple conditions, surfaces and drive events. The result isn’t incremental improvement, it’s months saved and millions preserved.”

Salman Safdar, Ansible Motion’s business development director, added, “Through our continuing collaborative efforts with AVL, we’re developing new ways to conduct subjective and objective evaluations of qualified concepts much earlier in the vehicle design cycle. Connecting our simulators seamlessly with a feature-rich simulation environment like AVL VSM elevates the virtual vehicle development process for manufacturers seeking to shorten development times, realize cost savings and reduce environmental impacts.”

The purpose-built facility represents a significant investment in driver development infrastructure. Situated close to Rodin Motorsport’s main race workshop, the center integrates the full-motion DMG-1 simulator alongside five static simulators, a driver training gym and a dedicated simulation control room designed with pit-wall-style operations and integrated data analysis suites.

The center will support Rodin’s driver programs across multiple championships, including FIA Formula 2, FIA Formula 3, F1 Academy, the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC), GB3 and British F4.

The DMG-1 is already being used to prepare drivers for the opening rounds of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 seasons, with further integration planned for the team’s F1 Academy program.

The simulator allows engineers and drivers to conduct vehicle setup work, qualifying simulations, circuit familiarization and race scenario preparation before track running begins. With ultra-low-latency motion response of 3-5ms and a primary motion bandwidth exceeding 100Hz, the platform is designed to deliver high-fidelity driver-in-the-loop simulation.

Rodin Motorsport owner David Dicker said, “The better the simulator, the better our potential results will be. I feel we are getting the best equipment available to us. If you are not moving forward, you are going backward. Investing in this level of technology reflects our commitment to building a world-class environment for our drivers and engineers.”

Benn Huntingford, Rodin Motorsport’s sporting director, added, “Using a simulator like Dynisma’s allows us to arrive better prepared and more competitive by the time a race begins. That’s a big part of driver development and overall team performance.”

Alex Dunne, FIA Formula 2 driver at Rodin Motorsport, commented, “This week we’ve been getting ready for Round 1 of the F2 Championship and running through many different programs on the simulator. At F2 level and above, you do very few laps on a race weekend, so you rely heavily on what you’ve learned in the simulator. We’ve replicated the car model well, and it’s very similar to the real car. The feeling over curbs, lock-ups, understeer and oversteer is very impressive.”

Tom Edwardes, head of driver-in-the-loop simulation at Rodin Motorsport, said, “We’re using the same vehicle models, data processing and analysis workflows that we use both online and offline, so correlation is consistent and we can iterate through setup changes and gather driver feedback within minutes.”

Ash Warne, the founder and CTO of Dynisma, commented, “Rodin Motorsport has made a clear investment in building a structured driver development ecosystem with its new Driver Performance Centre. The DMG-1 sits at the heart of that environment, providing a high-correlation platform where engineers and drivers can explore setup direction, validate vehicle models and refine performance before race weekends. In championships with limited testing, that level of fidelity and responsiveness becomes a critical competitive tool.”

The company has closed a US$10m seed extension led by Cambridge Innovation Capital, alongside existing investors including UP.Partners, Insight Partners, and InMotion Ventures. The seed round closed at US$18.5m.

Founded in 2022 by AI industry veterans Alan Patterson and Darren Garvey, BeyondMath has developed the world’s largest foundational physics model, which is capable of simulating complex physical phenomena, from aerodynamics to thermal management.

In automotive engineering specifically – where BeyondMath works with an F1 team – the platform supports real-time testing of thousands of design combinations to identify optimisations in aerodynamics and thermal management.

The funding will be used to scale up the commercial deployment of BeyondMath’s generative physics technology and increase its research capacity.

Alan Patterson, CEO of BeyondMath, said, “Engineering teams require ever-faster, more flexible simulation, but do not have the technology to deliver on these demands. Generative physics introduces a fundamentally new approach to engineering, unlocking innovation across fields ranging from aerospace and automotive to data-center design. We now have the capital and investor support to accelerate our research roadmap and scale commercial adoption. This could be the ChatGPT moment for physics.”

Edward Inns, principal at Cambridge Innovation Capital, added, “BeyondMath is tackling one of the hardest and most valuable problems in engineering. By combining first-principles physics with modern AI, the team has built a platform that can redefine how complex systems are designed across multiple industries. We look forward to supporting Alan, Darren and the team as they continue to scale.”
