Effective immediately, Ben Waterhouse assumes an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, with overarching responsibility across design and vehicle performance, reporting directly to technical director Pierre Wache. Waterhouse joined Red Bull from BMW-Sauber in 2014, first as deputy technical director at Scuderia Toro Rosso, and since 2017 as head of performance engineering at Oracle Red Bull Racing.

This change is an effort to strengthen integration between design and vehicle performance and accelerate the development of competitive, high-performing solutions.

On July 1, Andrea Landi will join as head of performance, reporting to Ben Waterhouse. He has extensive Formula 1 experience from his previous roles as deputy head of vehicle performance at Ferrari and deputy technical director at VCARB.

Milner joins the team after 20 years of association with Mercedes, most recently, a 14-year stint with the Brackley-based organization across the Honda, Brawn and Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team eras. Milner contributed to multiple World Championships in senior technical leadership roles including eight consecutive Constructors’ titles.

Milner progressed from simulation and design roles at Mercedes into senior leadership, including six years heading powertrain integration and transmission design. Most recently, as chief engineer for R&D, he led a multidisciplinary team delivering development and test programs. Outside F1, he has held senior design roles in the America’s Cup with Ineos Britannia, and also worked in the defense sector.

At Williams, Milner will be accountable for vehicle technology, driving on- and off-car performance through complex, integrated technology programs. He will champion first-principles engineering, accelerate development across hardware, simulation, test and quality, as well as embed strong links with car programs to ensure rapid conversion of ideas into race performance.

Milner said, “I’m thrilled to be joining Atlassian Williams F1 Team as chief engineer across vehicle technology. After 20 years of association with Brackley, it’s the right moment to take on a new challenge. Williams has a clear, ambitious plan to move forward, and I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and knowledge to help accelerate that journey. I can’t wait to meet the team, learn the organization, and get to work converting ideas into performance on track.”

Matt Harman, engineering technical director at Williams, added, “Dan brings broad experience and clear leadership. He has led major programs across R&D and powertrains, turning ideas into performance, and he knows how to bring teams together to deliver. Dan will be central to our vehicle technology plan and to converting innovation into consistent performance gains on track, so we’re thrilled to have him on board as we continue our plans of bringing Atlassian Williams F1 Team back to the front of the grid.”

The entry represents over 10% of the 60-car field, marking the brand’s largest-ever presence at the start of the championship.

Sharing the mechanical architecture of the high-performance Vantage road car, the Vantage GT3, which triumphed at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2024 – the world’s most prestigious GT3-only event, is built around Aston Martin’s proven bonded aluminum chassis and powered by its fearsome twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine.

Three Pro Class entries (cars and teams competing in the professional category) will feature for the season opener. A Comtoyou Racing Vantage GT3 piloted by Aston Martin Aramco F1 driver Lance Stroll, former Formula One competitor and GT racer Roberto Merhi, and Aston Martin Aramco Academy graduate Mari Boya. The Prologue test on Wednesday, April 8, will allow all teams to fine-tune setups prior to the day-to-night season opener.

Joining them are two regular Pro class entries, as well as two Vantages each in Silver and Bronze Cups. In total, the line-up includes six works GT drivers (professional drivers often factory or, in this case, works drivers) and two AMR Driver Academy graduates.

Aston Martin head of endurance motorsport, Adam Carter, said, “It is fantastic for Aston Martin to have the strongest Vantage line-up the brand has ever fielded in the GT World Challenge Europe that includes two Pro cars filled with Aston Martin works drivers, and we’re proud to say, our two most recent AMR Driver Academy graduates Kobe Pauwels and Jamie Day. The GT World Challenge Europe goes from strength to strength with every passing season and there is no better way, or place, to showcase Vantage’s exceptional abilities on the international motorsport stage.”

The agreement includes branding on the Japanese outfit’s race cars and drivers’ overalls.

Nissan Formula E Team says its partnership with Alpine Tech has been a key factor in the squad’s journey across the GEN3 era. The French manufacturer has helped with the development of the Nissan e‑4ORCE 05 Formula E powertrain, leading to the Nissan Formula E Team winning six races and the Season 11 Drivers’ World Championship with Oliver Rowland. The two companies have also collaborated closely on the development of young racers, with several of Nissan Formula E Team’s rookie drivers having a pre-existing relationship with Alpine.

To celebrate this long-lasting collaboration, the Alpine Tech logo will appear on the inside of the rear wing end plates on the #1 and #23 Nissan e‑4ORCE 05 cars from this weekend’s Madrid E-Prix. The brand’s logo will also feature on the drivers’ race suits.

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal at Nissan Formula E Team, commented, “We’re very happy to showcase the Alpine Tech brand for the remainder of the GEN3 season, as our partnership and collaboration have been key to our success in this era of Formula E. We’re excited to continue working with Alpine Tech. Our relationship is a broad one with several different touchpoints, making their support very valuable.”

Axel Plasse, VP at Alpine Tech, added, “At Alpine Tech, we continue to build on the expertise developed through many years at the highest level of motorsport, including Formula 1 and endurance racing. Together with Nissan Formula E Team, we have exceptional engineering ability. Applying our know-how to new projects through consultancy and technology services is a key priority for us. This partnership with Nissan Formula E Team is a perfect example of optimization of talent and expertise. It showcases how two highly competitive organizations like Alpine Tech and Nissan Formula E Team can combine their efforts to push the boundaries of efficiency and power density, developing the highest-performing electric powertrains in the world.”

The Italian-Swiss engineer will report directly to Rouven Mohr, chief technical officer of Automobili Lamborghini.

Reggiani said, “It is a true honor to join Lamborghini as head of motorsport. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me, and proud to join a company with such an extraordinary heritage and that represents passion, performance and bold innovation at the highest level. Together with the talented people who make Lamborghini unique, I look forward to building on this strong foundation and helping to write the next chapter in our racing history, striving for new milestones that will excite our clients, our partners and our fans around the world.”

Reggiani previously held senior roles at several leading motorsport brands. In his new role, he will be responsible for the development of Lamborghini’s motorsport models and the commercial management of racing activities, including the global Lamborghini Super Trofeo platform across Europe, Asia and North America and the GT3 customer racing program.

Erik Skirmants (North America), Federica Teneggi (Europe) and Francesco Scardoni (Asia-Pacific) will each continue in their roles as motorsport activity coordinators in their respective regions.

In addition to managing the motorsport activities of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Reggiani will look after Lamborghini’s trackday-only Essenza SCV12 program.

Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, commented, “I would like to wish Andrea Reggiani every success in his new role. I am confident that his commitment will bring added value to Lamborghini’s motorsports activities, which for our brand remain an important laboratory for the development of new technologies. Andrea’s arrival in our family coincides with the debut of the Temerario GT3, and the initial development phases of the Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo which, from next year, will form the basis of three single-make championships in Europe, Asia and North America. I would like to extend a warm welcome to Andrea.”

Mohr added, “We are delighted to welcome Andrea Reggiani to the Lamborghini family heading into the new season, one that marks the start of a new chapter for the brand with the introduction of the new Temerario GT3 on the world stage, starting with the Sebring 12 Hours this weekend. His significant motorsport expertise and know-how were something that appealed strongly to Squadra Corse and align perfectly with the brand’s long-term strategic plans. I am sure he will lead Lamborghini to even more successes in the coming years, most notably in some of the most prestigious GT3 championships but also in our highly successful one-make Super Trofeo platform.”

Wheatley had been part of the Audi F1 Project since April 2025. Together with Binotto, he built up the racing team at the Hinwil facility in Switzerland, which immediately scored points on its Formula 1 debut in early March.

“We are grateful to Jonathan Wheatley for his contribution to the project during the crucial entry phase and wish him all the best for the future,” said Gernot Döllner, CEO of Audi and chairman of the board of management of Audi Motorsport.

“Mattia Binotto and the team will continue to pursue the path we have chosen with determination. Our focus remains unchanged: we are concentrating all our efforts on building a team competing at the highest level that will challenge for world championships in Formula 1 by 2030. We will continuously develop our organizational structures to achieve our shared goal in a sustainable manner.”

Unlike Lamborghini’s early racing projects, which relied on external technical partners, the Temerario GT3 was conceived alongside the roadgoing Temerario, sharing core architecture but excluding the hybrid system. This parallel development enabled engineers to integrate road car R&D with motorsport-specific engineering from day one.

“With Temerario GT3, we have reached full technical maturity in motorsport,” said chief technical officer Rouven Mohr. “For the first time, the car was designed, developed and engineered entirely in-house from day one. The integration between road car R&D and racing engineering allowed us to create a highly sophisticated and efficient platform that represents the third generation of Lamborghini GT3 cars.”

The engineers behind the road car’s twin-turbo V8 engine were involved in calibrating the race version, which delivers strong torque with high drivability.

“Temerario GT3 was conceived with motorsport in mind from the earliest stages,” said Gianluca Silvestrini, Temerario GT3 project manager. “The chassis architecture, the packaging of the powertrain and the serviceability solutions were engineered specifically to meet the demands of endurance racing and customer teams. Our objective was not only pure performance, but also operational efficiency and ease of intervention during race weekends.”

Testing began in the summer of 2025, and the car immediately demonstrated strong fundamentals. Over 15,000km were completed across multiple circuits without significant reliability concerns, reinforcing confidence ahead of its competitive debut this year.

“With the Huracán we built experience and technical confidence,” explained Marco Mapelli, Lamborghini factory driver and test driver since 2017. “When a race car has a solid base, you feel it straight away. From the first tests, the Temerario GT3 showed strong reliability and very clear sensitivity to setup changes. One of our key targets was drivability. The Huracán was extremely competitive but not always easy at the limit. With the Temerario, we focused on making the car more accessible, especially for gentleman drivers, while keeping performance at the highest level. The new twin-turbo V8 delivers strong torque and offers very interesting characteristics, even if we say goodbye to the iconic sound of the naturally aspirated V10.”

Lamborghini has also established a dedicated assembly area at Sant’Agata Bolognese for its race cars, separate from road production. Five modular assembly bays can be configured for GT3 or Super Trofeo vehicles, ensuring full control over quality standards. Only the initial V8 engine assembly is shared with the road car production line before race-specific modifications are applied.

Customer integration has been central to the project. Early teams have participated in alignment sessions at circuits such as Misano, enabling engineers, mechanics and drivers to familiarize themselves with the car’s systems and operational philosophy before competition.

In four-wheel racing, the tire maker will continue supplying its Bridgestone tires to Japan’s Super GT series, where teams running Potenza tires have secured five consecutive overall championships in both GT500 and GT300 classes, and the Firestone brand will continue as the exclusive tire supplier to the NTT IndyCar Series, including the Indianapolis 500.

Hiroshi Imai (above), vice president and senior officer for global motorsports, Bridgestone Corporation, emphasized the company’s collaborative approach: “Motorsports is the ultimate team sport. For the second consecutive year, the Delphi logo will appear on the team’s single-seaters and associated commercial assets, reinforcing its presence on the global F1 calendar and its reputation as a trusted automotive aftermarket supplier.

“Motorsport has always been a critical environment for accelerating innovation, and our partnership with Alpine reflects a shared belief in the value of engineering-led progress,” said Todd Anderson, chief technology officer, Phinia. “These programs allow us to develop and validate advanced fuel systems technology under the most demanding conditions, supporting both high-performance applications today and the evolution of future propulsion technologies.”
