The installation was completed in 2025 and supported the team’s preparation for the 2026 Formula 1 technical regulations.

Dynisma’s motion generator technology provides a highly realistic driver-in-the-loop simulation environment, combining sub-5ms latency, bandwidth of up to 100Hz, sustained lateral motion and unlimited yaw capability. This enables drivers and engineers to evaluate vehicle behavior with a high degree of realism and repeatability, supporting trusted correlation across development activity.

With teams now actively developing cars under the current regulation set, simulation continues to play a central role in supporting fast, informed decision-making. At Enstone, the Dynisma simulator supports correlation with track data, wind tunnel results and CFD analysis, while also enabling detailed work to understand the behavior and interaction of the 2026 regulations covering powertrain, aerodynamics and tires.

The simulator is being used to support car development, setup evaluation and driver preparation during the 2026 season and will continue to form a core part of the team’s technical capability in future seasons.

BWT Alpine Formula One Team commented, “The 2026 Formula 1 regulations are a big departure from anything that we had before and required completely new cars in every aspect. Simulator work is a core part of how we develop and refine the car across multiple areas and is especially useful when there are such big changes. Driver-in-the-loop simulation helps us to understand vehicle and system behaviors and to connect driver feedback with our wider engineering data. Dynisma’s motion technology provides a realistic and repeatable environment that supports that process and underpins informed decision-making throughout the season.”

Ash Warne, the founder and CTO of Dynisma, added, “In all forms of vehicle development, simulation needs to deliver realism and trusted correlation if it is to add real value. That depends on a true 1:1 response between what drivers and engineers experience in the simulator and what is seen in track data, wind tunnel testing and CFD. We are pleased to see this capability being used by BWT Alpine Formula One Team as a client, supporting confident decision-making across a complex development program under the current regulations.”

The SportContact 7 Force was developed for maximum control at high speed on the road and on the racetrack. The dedicated derivative carries the BB sidewall identification, manufactured exclusively for Brabus.

Drawing on Continental’s tread concept seen in the SportContact 7, the SportContact 7 Force responds quickly to changing loads to keep control high and reactions precise even at high speeds. In practice, this supports predictable lane change behavior, stable highway running and repeatable grip under successive braking and acceleration on track.

“With the SportContact 7 Force, we are taking the performance of our most successful UUHP tire to an even sportier level,” said Dr Marian Graßmann, senior tire developer Continental Germany. “The combination of adaptive tread pattern, advanced Harmonized BlackChili compound and vehicle-specific design enables handling that remains precise, stable and controllable under extreme conditions. Balancing everyday use with racetrack competence was our development target. Our tires are the first with specification marking for Brabus showing that not only is the vehicle tailored made but the tires are special too.”

Continental and Brabus have collaborated for more than 25 years. “The Brabus BODO embodies modern coachbuilding at the highest level – down to the very last detail,” said Dipl.-Ing. Jörn Gander, chief technology officer at Brabus. “Together with Continental, we created a bespoke tire technology that perfectly combines performance, control and character. The BB signature on the sidewall makes visible what sets this project apart: genuine individual development rather than compromise.”

The design story pairs a “sentimental heritage with a modern performance brief”, Continental said, adding that the SportContact 7 Force delivers “predictable grip, steering precision and high‑speed stability that translate power into confidence.”

Developed jointly with Brabus, the tire supports the supercar’s engine performance and axle‑load distribution, ensuring that the car’s intended driving power is transmitted to the road.

The company has unified its historic racing products under a single Goodyear-branded portfolio, expanding the range with 57 additional sizes and specifications.

“Historic racers don’t choose tires because of nostalgia alone,” said Xavier Fraipont, vice president of Goodyear Racing. “They choose our tires because they continue to deliver the authentic performance, confidence and consistency these legendary cars demand on track. Bringing the entire range under the Goodyear name reflects the scale of our commitment to historic motorsport and reinforces the role racing heritage continues to play in shaping our brand worldwide.”

In line with strict FIA Appendix K homologation requirements, all approved production methods, molds, specifications and performance characteristics will remain fully preserved to maintain period authenticity.

Goodyear Blue Streak branding will cover pre-1980s competition cars, while Goodyear Eagle branding will support historic categories from the 1980s to the present day. The expanded Blue Streak range supports a broader spectrum of 1950s-1970s formula, touring and sports racing cars.

Recent additions include tires for pre-war and vintage-era racers, fitting the likes of Bentley, ERA and Alfa Romeo machines from the 1920s and 1930s. Wider specifications have been developed for 1960s and 1970s World Sportscar and Le Mans machinery, defined by Ferrari 512 and Porsche 917 rivalries. Sizes developed for the lightweight, giant-killing sports cars of the 1960s and 1970s, including Matra, Lola and Chevron have also been added.

These additions form a key part of the expanded Blue Streak range, while the recent return of tires for 1990s and 2000s GT2, LMP2, LMP1 and Super Touring machinery further strengthens the Goodyear Eagle historic portfolio.

Fraipont added, “Goodyear’s racing record stands among the most formidable in motorsport history, from 368 Formula 1 victories to 14 overall wins at Le Mans and more BTCC victories than any other tire manufacturer since the championship began in 1958. Goodyear has also been a tire supplier to NASCAR for more than 70 years, and exclusive supplier to NASCAR’s three national series since 1997. Our range now includes tires from these eras of each of those championships. As we continue building Goodyear for the future, expanding the Blue Streak range is about more than honoring our heritage, it’s about ensuring some of the most iconic racing cars ever built continue competing on the tires that helped define their era.”

Type 01 development has been directly inspired by technology used by the company’s Formula E team – Jaguar TCS Racing – integrating technology proven on track by the World Championship-winning all‑electric team.

The prototype’s responses have been fine‑tuned using lessons learned from Jaguar TCS Racing’s all‑wheel-drive control software and fast‑switching silicon-carbide‑powered inverters.

Regenerative braking, range and fast‑charging capability have also reportedly been enhanced using technology developed on track.

“To achieve our vision for Type 01, we not only harnessed our Formula E know‑how but also embedded the competition mindset of Jaguar TCS Racing in our engineering teams. This helped us develop innovative solutions for our luxury four‑door GT that drives like no other electric car,” said Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover.

The Type name has been associated with Jaguar since the Le Mans-winning C-Type in 1951. It represents a combination of performance and driver engagement alongside refinement, as seen in models such as the E-Type and F-Type. In Jaguar Type 01, the 0 represents electric propulsion and zero tailpipe emissions, while the 1 signifies its position as the first Jaguar of a new era. The vehicle was designed, developed and built in the UK.

Jaguar’s four‑door GT will be revealed later this year.

JCB has been working on the development of hydrogen ICE engines for the past five years and has now introduced them into production. It will be these engines that form the basis of the Hydromax’s powertrain. “It’s incredibly strong and incredibly robust,” says chief engineer, Lee Harper. “So, when we’re chucking very high boost pressure at it, it’s great because it will take it all day long. It’s built to last forever.” This is fortunate as the output of the engines will be increased from around 85bhp to 800bhp, with the JCB team working in conjunction with Ricardo on development, which has focussed on increased boost (via bespoke, single stage turbochargers) and combustion improvements.

Impressively, the stock block, crank and even most of the valve train is retained. “The valve train dynamics have been excellent, and no issues at all with life. In fact, we haven’t changed anything drastically in any of the valve train, which is where the typical risk areas are. That has kind of surprised us and delighted us.”

The engines will be housed in a streamliner body built around a tubular steel chassis, developed in conjunction with Prodrive, with a pair of six-speed transmission provided by Xtrac, mated to JCB bellhousings and, surprisingly, JCB clutches. The engines are laid flat, to reduce frontal area with dry-sump oiling to handle lubrication. A water/ice cooling system will be used, as radiators would carry too great a drag penalty and the car will use around 250kg of ice per record run come August.

The team has drawn heavily on the experience with Dieselmax, and though consideration was given to using the old chassis, it was deemed that an all-new build would be a better approach. As a result, though the general layout is similar, the new car is longer and has a more driver-forward setup, alongside considerable refinements to the aerodynamics and, most importantly, the tire package.

In 2006, the available tyres from Goodyear were only rated to 300mph, with further testing – aided by NASA – proving they were sound up to 350mph, which became the hard limit for the record run. In a major move, JCB has worked with Goodyear to develop a new LSR tire, and although its maximum speed rating has yet to be revealed, it is well in excess of the old rubber.

With testing of the car due to commence in the UK at the start of June, JCB plans to make its record attempts during Bonneville Speed Weeks in August. It’s stated aim so far is purely to ‘match’ the performance of Dieselmax, to prove the validity of its H2 ICE technology. However, it is well documented that the old car had the potential to run well over 350mph, and with greater power and lower weight, there is every chance Hydromax will eclipse its performance.

Look out for a full feature on the JCB Dieselmax streamliner in an upcoming issue of PMW magazine

The vehicle is part of Ferrari’s One-Off series within the company’s Special Projects program, and was designed by the Ferrari Design Studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni. It is a mid-rear internal combustion engine V8 model derived from the F8 Spider, from which it inherits its layout, chassis and internal combustion powertrain.

According to Ferrari, the main ambition when creating the car was to reinterpret the forms and aesthetic codes of the company’s mid‑rear‑engined Spiders with a bold, forward-looking perspective.

Built on the F8 Spider platform, the HC25 is based on Ferrari’s final open-top model with a mid-rear non-hybrid turbo V8 engine. Its styling features pronounced wheel arches, clean lines and sculpted surfaces inspired by Ferrari’s latest flagship models, the F80 and Ferrari 12Cilindri, linking the brand’s mid-rear V8 heritage with the design direction of newer vehicles through simple geometric forms and flowing body contours.

The dual-volume structure defines the front and rear as two distinct bodies, joined by a wrapping, highly three‑dimensional central band. This element appears as a functional black ribbon incorporating essential thermal-management components, including air intakes for the radiators and heat extraction for the powertrain.

The side profile is shaped by an arrow-like design line that extends from the rear wheel area toward the front, rises over the door and handle, then flows back into the rear screen. This design emphasizes the rear bodywork while creating a forward visual balance. The door handle is integrated into a long aluminum element that spans the body sides, separated by a central black band.

The proportions of the HC25 have been refined to minimize the visual impact of the glazing and lower the perceived shoulder line that shapes the car’s silhouette. At the front, the headlight has been created specifically for this car to achieve a very slim lens with a central indentation that perfectly mirrors the split design of the rear lights. The DRLs (daytime running lights) adopt a vertical arrangement, exploiting the leading edge of the front wings to create a distinctive boomerang shape.

The design combines gloss and matt finishes to create visual contrast. Yellow accents used on the Ferrari logos and brake calipers are reflected in the cabin, where gray technical fabric is paired with yellow graphic elements inspired by shapes used on the exterior and daytime running lights. The wheels have a five-spoke design with a diamond-finished outer rim and recessed detailing intended to enhance their visual size, while the dark-finished spokes emphasize the wheel diameter.

The company says the tire offers greater tread depth and durability than a semi-slick tire while maintaining grip and handling characteristics suited to track driving.

The Hankook Ventus evo Z (Z001) is a sporty summer tire with an ECE approval number, meeting all statutory requirements, including having a minimum tread depth of greater than 1.6mm. It is intended for drivers of sports cars, the tuning community, motorsport enthusiasts and competitors in junior racing series.

The development of the Ventus evo Z draws on the company’s experience in motorsport. The tire passed its test runs on the HWA Evo – a reinterpretation of the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II racing car from the 1990s. Lessons learned from the tests were incorporated directly into the standard design.

The Ventus evo Z features an asymmetric tread design with grooves of varying depth and width for maximum stability. The aramid-reinforced belt is designed for high tread rigidity and dimensional stability under heavy load stress.

The outer shoulder is equipped with closed-cut lateral grooves, designed to maximize the contact surface with the road and increase block rigidity when cornering. The tire mixture is based on the use of liquid resin and a high-temperature-resistant resin mixture, inspired by developments in motorsport.

The size range covers the requirements of different vehicle models in the high-performance segment, including the Porsche 911, BMW M models, Audi RS, Mercedes-AMG and others. The tire will eventually be available in sizes from 18-21in, with a width of 225-355mm and an aspect ratio from 25 to 45.

Nearly all 25 tire sizes carry the (Y) speed rating, indicating approval for speeds above 300km/h; the remaining sizes are rated Y for speeds up to 300km/h.
