KTM plans ‘X-BOW Battle’ one-make cup
KTM is planning to start a dedicated Central European race series in 2010. Georg Silbermayr, responsible for sales and motorsport at KTM, said: “We will create a proper one-make racing series for our customers, who can match themselves against like-minded people.” Named KTM X-BOW Battle, the series has been sanctioned by the Austrian OSK.
The format of the competition allows every X-BOW owner, regardless of model, to take part in the races. “This was a prerequisite for us when we started to plan the series,” Silbermayr explained. “Most of our customers are keen on racing, but not everyone wants to buy a X-BOW GT4 for highly professional series such as the GT4 European Cup. In addition to this, you can arrange to hire X-BOWs during the race weekends and we will have KTM spare parts support on site.”
Calendar for the KTM X-BOW Battle in 2010:
April 23-24: Salzburgring (Austria)
May 28-29: Autodrom Most (Czech Republic)
June 18-19: EuroSpeedway Lausitz (Germany)
July 2-3: Hockenheimring (Germany)
September 10-11: Slovakia Ring (Slovakia)
October 8-9: Automotodrom Brno (Czech Republic)
