Gill Sensors designs and develops specialist sensors for motorsport, defence, marine and other applications subject to extreme environments. Widely acknowledged as the world’s leading supplier of capacitive liquid level sensors, Gill currently supplies all leading F1, LMS and ALMS teams with sensors for fuel, oil and coolant.

All Gill liquid level sensors utilize advanced capacitive technology, with no moving sensor parts. Gill can rapidly customize the mechanical packaging of each sensor, working closely with the client to ensure all technical, mechanical and delivery requirements are fulfilled. All sensors are fully configurable, with integrated electronics capable of storing up to 20 individual calibration files. This allows engineers to change between fuel or oil types simply, without the need for factory or lab-based sensor recalibration during use. Gill has strived to continually develop the electronic and mechanical packaging options, now offering carbon-fiber and titanium constructions that weigh as little as 40g.

Other sensors in Gill’s portfolio include non-contact position sensors, which utilize Gill’s own patented induction technology to detect the position of a metallic object that is mounted away from the sensor. The 25mm Blade sensor is particularly popular in suspension feedback applications, where the frequency of movement can dramatically reduce the life of other types of contacting sensor. The 25mm Blade Sensor is small, light and robust and, with a fully programmable measurement range, will offer the full-scale output over the suspension measurement range.
Gill Sensors has an R&D division, which enables the complete development of bespoke sensor solutions. With a team of highly skilled engineers offering a wealth of expertise across numerous disciplines in the sensor arena, Gill continues to offer rapid, cost-effective technological solutions to match the demands of its expanding motorsport customer base.
