Admeasure Scanning was founded as a bureau service company specializing in Reverse Engineering and 3D Measurement in 2004. Today it operates across a wide variety of industries with particular expertise in motorsport applications and is a member of the Motorsport Industry Association. Customers have included teams and suppliers operating in F1, F3, WTCC, sports-prototypes, touring cars, NASCAR, MotoGP, Superbikes and historic motorsport.

The use of a portable scanning system and Geomagic software enables Admeasure Scanning to rapidly “capture” 3D form in a digital format. In Reverse Engineering this data is processed to provide STL or NURBS-surfaced models for use in CAD and analysis packages such as CFD and FEA or for NC-machining and rapid prototyping/ manufacturing. This is particularly useful for objects where no CAD data exists, for hand-made or hand-modified products or for legacy items where design information may exist only as 2D drawings.

3D Measurement projects are typically undertaken for highly free-form shapes or associated tooling which would be difficult to inspect using conventional co-ordinate measuring machines. In such applications, scanned data is compared with existing CAD models to show deviations and provide dimensional verification.

In most cases scanning can be conducted at the client’s premises – “we come to you” – which can speed-up the process and reduces down-time for vehicle preparation, tooling and manufacturing.

Admeasure Scanning is also an authorized reseller for Geomagic software in the UK and provides associated training. Geomagic Studio remains the leading software package for reverse engineering whilst Geomagic Qualify is used in 3D measurement.
