It all began more than 30 years ago when Klaus Luetgemeier started constructing retrofit kits for turbochargers in cooperation with Turbo May. The first order for a racing turbocharger that Ford motorsport placed with Luetgemeier marked the firm’s entry into vehicle and motorsport parts construction.
In addition to engine and transmission parts, chassis components and even complete vehicles have been manufactured by the company in the German town of Steinhagen over the years. Since the 1980s, automobile companies and top racing teams have welcomed the know-how of the resourceful manufacturing engineers from Steinhagen in the fields of conception, construction and manufacturing of single components, up to the production of small batches.
Later, with the help of modern manufacturing techniques, the company began to focus its efforts on the core competencies of the construction and manufacturing of parts for chassis frames, transmissions and engines. The company´s specialty is the production of pre-finished components. The manifold material requirements are met by the use of steel, titanium, magnesium and aluminium.
It stands to reason that a company specializing in prototypes and small batches also attaches great importance to rapid prototyping. In this field, production is carried out via lost forms for precision castings from steel, aluminium and titanium.
The three managing directors Jochen Huelsmann, Bernd Naujoks and Juergen Schwinghammer have led the company and its 12 employees for several years now. Not many, some might say, but looking at the company´s list of references, it becomes clear that it does not take a huge staff to quickly and flexibly handle highly skilled work. Be it for Formula 1, rallying, Le Mans prototypes, FIA WTCC or concept vehicles for the DTM, for Luetgemeier GmbH, there is hardly a customer requirement that is too difficult or a request that is too complicated.
